AI tools for TV mounting and art hanging businesses (2026)

Updated Oct 17, 2026 · Prices as of Oct 2026 · Some links may be affiliate links (disclosure)

TV mounting is one of the best small-ticket service businesses for online booking. The job is well-defined, the price can be fixed, and most customers would rather click "book" than talk on the phone. Art hanging is its quieter cousin: gallery walls, big mirrors and statement pieces for homeowners, designers and stagers. Both pay best when the price is clear before you arrive and the day is routed tightly.

This guide replaces our separate art installers guide. We checked every price in October 2026.

Build the price list once

A good TV mounting booking page answers every question before the customer asks:

  • Base mount by TV size range (for example, up to 55 inches, 56 to 75, over 75), on standard drywall over wood studs
  • Mount type: customer-supplied, or your fixed, tilting or full-motion mount at a set price
  • Wall add-ons: brick, stone or tile, metal studs, and above-fireplace mounts (heat, height and hidden flue issues)
  • Cables: surface raceway, or in-wall concealment with a rated power kit
  • Extras: soundbar mount, streaming box setup, old TV removal or haul-away

Have customers upload a photo of the wall and the TV's model sticker when they book. That catches VESA mismatches, a fireplace with no studs above it, or an 85-inch TV that needs two people.

Art hanging: layout is the job

Art customers care about spacing more than anchors. Ask for photos of each piece's back (wire, D-rings or French cleat), the weight or size of the biggest piece, the wall type (drywall, plaster, brick), the ceiling height and the stairs you'll carry through. Plaster cracks with the wrong anchor, and big mirrors need cleats.

  • Single statement piece: flat rate.
  • Gallery wall: a package price by number of pieces, including layout on the floor or with paper templates.
  • Designer and stager accounts: a half-day or full-day rate with priority scheduling. These are your repeat customers.

ChatGPT can turn a list of frame sizes into a few layout options with spacing. It's a sketch. Lay it out for real on the floor before you drill.

Route and fill the day

Most mounts take one to two hours. Five in one area beats three spread across town. Use Jobber's or Housecall Pro's map view to group bookings, and offer a small discount for flexible time windows. Big-game weekends and the holidays bring a rush of new TVs. Open extra slots in late November and before the Super Bowl.

Copy-paste texts

  • Before the visit: "Looking forward to Thursday! Please have the TV out of the box and the mount nearby. If we're going above the fireplace, let me know if it's wood-burning or gas."
  • Fireplace honesty: "I can mount it there, but heat and viewing height are real issues above a wood fireplace. A pull-down mount ($__) fixes both. Want me to add it?"
  • Review ask: "All done, and thanks for having me. If you're happy with how it looks, a quick Google review helps a lot: [link]."

What you will pay

  • Side hustle: Calendly free booking, Wave free invoices, Smith.ai free tier, ChatGPT free. $0 a month.
  • Full-time solo: Housecall Pro Basic ($59/mo annually) or Jobber Core ($29/mo annually), plus Quo Starter ($15/mo annually).
  • Two-van operation: Housecall Pro Essentials ($149/mo annually for 5 users) or Jobber Connect ($99/mo annually), plus NiceJob ($75/mo).

At around $150 a mount and four extra mounts a month from faster booking, even the $149 plan pays for itself several times over.

Where this falls short

  • Flat prices break on odd walls. Keep the right to re-quote on site, and say so on the booking page.
  • Big marketplaces and big-box install services set low price expectations. Compete on availability, reviews and hiding cables well.
  • Damage claims (cracked plaster, a dropped TV) happen. Carry liability insurance and take before photos.

FAQ

How should I price TV mounting?

Most small mounting businesses use a flat base price by TV size range, plus add-ons for above-fireplace mounts, brick or stone, in-wall cable concealment, soundbars and old-TV removal. Flat prices let customers book online without a call. Put the add-ons on the booking page so nobody is surprised at the door.

Can I run power behind the wall for a TV?

Hiding low-voltage cables behind the wall is common. Running a power cord inside the wall is not allowed by most electrical codes; use an in-wall power kit rated for that purpose or have an electrician add an outlet. Spell out which you do on your booking page.

How do art installers quote gallery walls?

By piece count, weight and wall type, plus layout time. Ask for photos of the wall and the back of each piece. A salon-style gallery wall with 15 frames takes longer to lay out than to hang, so price layout separately or quote it as a package.
